  • Responsive — Think it this way. You are also a user of many different web applications that you use daily and you don’t ever want your profile pictures to go out of your screen size and not be able to see it. With the increasing use of devices with varying sizes, it’s essential to adopt a responsive design approach. Make it mobile-friendly, tablet-friendly, and also web-friendly! Responsive design improves user experience and ensures that your site remains accessible across various devices.
  • Friendly Nav Bar: Make your navigation bar clean, and intuitive for the user because the point of having a nav bar is for the user to easily navigate among pages. Use clear menus to guide users and help them find the information they need effortlessly. A well-organized navigation system improves user experience and encourages visitors to explore more of your website. Where you put your nav bar can be your preference and how it keeps harmony with the alignment of other components. Personally, I think the nav bar on the left side is cool and the traditional horizontal style on top of the page can never go wrong.
  • High-Quality Images: Utilize high-quality images, illustrations, and videos to engage users and convey your message effectively. Visual content can make a significant impact on user experience, so choose visuals that are relevant, meaningful, and visually appealing.
  • Accessibility: Accessibility is crucial for providing an inclusive web experience for all users. Make sure your website follows accessibility guidelines, making it usable for individuals with disabilities. Design with consideration for color contrast, alt text for images, proper heading structure, keyboard navigation, and other accessibility best practices.
  • Consistency: Keep your design elements consistent throughout your website. Use consistent colors, typography, button styles, and layout across different pages. Consistency enhances user experience and reinforces your brand identity.
  • Test and Repeat: Continuously test your website’s design and refine your design to enhance user experience and address any usability issues. Look out for bugs and room for improvement!
  • Be Proactive: Don’t be afraid of learning new tech stacks and working with new tools. New languages, libraries, and frameworks keep getting released and it is important to be more curious and open to learning and applying them in projects.
