Webex is a sophisticated conferencing tool utilized by businesses of all sizes across the globe. It offers services for webinars, training, remote technical support, and video meetings. Given its ubiquity and functionality, integrating Webex into Teamcal Ai has become a strategic imperative for us to enhance our platform’s interoperability and expand our user base.
Our primary focus is to enable users to schedule, share, and join Webex meetings directly from Teamcal Ai. This involves syncing user calendars, fetching available time slots, and auto-populating meeting details. The idea is to reduce the number of steps and clicks a user has to go through, thereby saving time and improving productivity. By factoring in multiple schedules between users, our embedded app aims to make the scheduling experience as painless as possible.
The development of our embedded app has started with ideation and wireframing this week. As we have experience developing a Zoom embedded app, we hope to utilize that knowledge for this integration. Initially, getting familiar with the Webex Developer platform was required. Fortunately, Webex has an SDK for this purpose and a thorough documentation base. I was able to follow the Webex Quick Start guide to get an app up and running. I learned of the collaboration functionality that Webex emphasizes, where all the users in a meeting can share screens. Deriving from this start, the architecture and embedded functionality required of an embedded app became clear.
The second step to development has been wireframing the app. Our current features set is aimed to get users up and running immediately, without necessarily having to go through a long registration process. This design choice is crucial for the user experience. Our wireframing process has defined all the user screens and the additional functionality that a Webex integration will require. Through this process. I have become more confident in the features of our application and the resulting implementation that will take place.
The third and current step to our development is implementation. As we iterate on the product, we plan on adding features on each release. However, our current implementation is intended to get the product published and available in the app hub in time for our next release. Our subsequent steps will include testing, optimization, and user feedback. These processes will polish the app and present a compelling package to its users.
Personally, I am very excited for this release and I hope the Webex embedded app will offer attractive problem-solving capabilities for its users. As I learn more about the competitive landscape of scheduling apps, I am more motivated to implement the strategies through which Teamcal Ai will present new offerings to the user base.
